BACK TO BASICS

Cincinnati is at a crossroads. Residents are losing faith in a city government that seems more focused on political pet projects than on maintaining roads, collecting trash, and keeping neighborhoods safe.

As a lifelong Cincinnatian with real-world experience, Aaron believes in returning to the fundamentals: safety, service, accountability, and respect for neighborhoods. That starts with fixing what’s broken, restoring trust, and delivering results that residents can see and feel in their daily lives.

PRIORITIES

CORE CITY
SERVICES

Core City Services

City government must deliver the basics. That starts with restoring excellence in the services residents rely on most — clean streets, quality infrastructure, timely services, and publicly controlled city assets.

  • Streets & Infrastructure: Prioritize road repair, pothole management, sewer upgrades, and hillside stabilization. Infrastructure must support growth—not hinder it.

  • Trash Collection & Snow Removal: Improve response times, increase route consistency, and invest in equipment and personnel to ensure citywide reliability for these essential services. Street plowing blackouts during snowstorms are unacceptable. Additionally, increase funding for the cleanup of illegal dumping, while aggressively pursuing and fining individuals who dump illegally.

  • Protect Public Assets: Oppose the sale or privatization of critical public assets. City resources — like the Water Works, parking system, and formerly, the railroad — should remain in the hands of the public, serving the public.

  • Service Responsiveness & Reporting: Modernize tracking systems and communication protocols to ensure resident requests are logged, addressed, and transparently reported.

  • Cleanliness & Maintenance: Commit to regular street sweeping, storm drain clearing, alleyway cleanup, and maintenance of public rights-of-way to improve everyday quality of life.

PRIORITIES

PUBLIC SAFETY & LAW ENFORCEMENT

Public Safety & Law Enforcement

Public safety is a core function of city government. We must support law enforcement, respond to rising crime, and restore the sense of safety our neighborhoods deserve.

  • Police Recruitment & Retention: Strengthen efforts to recruit, train, and retain a full police force that can meet the needs of a growing city.

  • Combatting Gun Violence: Work closely with law enforcement, the courts, and community stakeholders to target illegal firearms, repeat violent offenders, and rising violent crime.

  • Youth Violence & Crime Prevention: Address youth violence through coordinated efforts that include curfew and truancy enforcement, youth intervention programs, and family outreach. These efforts should be comprehensive — no single approach can address the full scope of the issue.

  • Community Partnerships: Strengthen collaborations with community safety organizations, local businesses, and churches to increase visibility, improve communication, and build trust.

PRIORITIES

NEIGHBORHOOD
BASED DEVELOPMENT

Neighborhood Based Development

Cincinnati’s neighborhoods are the heart of the city. Our development policies must respect the identity of each community and empower residents to shape their future.

  • Repeal Connected Communities: On day one, work to repeal the Connected Communities ordinance. Any future development policy must be shaped with genuine neighborhood input — not imposed from above.

  • Preserve Neighborhood Identity: Encourage development that complements the scale, culture, and character of the neighborhood it serves. Reject one-size-fits-all approaches.

  • Affordable Housing & Stability: Support naturally occurring affordable housing by incentivizing landlords to keep rents affordable, especially for elderly and long-term tenants.

  • Revitalize Without Displacement: Provide tools such as home repair grants and tax abatements to help current residents stay and thrive in their communities as investment returns.

PRIORITIES

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FROM THE GROUND UP

Economic Development From the Ground Up

A stronger city starts with a stronger economy. We must focus on job creation, small business support, and responsible growth that lifts up every neighborhood.

  • Support Local Businesses: Expand small business grant programs, simplify licensing and permitting, and partner with universities and nonprofits to incubate local talent.

  • Job Creation through Investment: Direct city resources toward infrastructure and public projects that create good-paying jobs and support workforce training.

  • Strategic Public-Private Partnerships: Collaborate with private industry to revitalize commercial corridors and invest in key sectors that strengthen the city’s long-term economic base.

Community Voice & Transparency

PRIORITIES

COMMUNITY VOICE
& TRANSPARENCY

Residents deserve a government that listens and responds. We must restore trust through honest leadership, accessible representation, and a focus on every neighborhood.

  • Constituent Engagement: Commit to regular engagement with community councils and residents, attend local events, and respond quickly to constituent needs.

  • Representation for All 52 Neighborhoods: Every neighborhood deserves a seat at the table, not just the politically connected ones. Resources and attention must be equitably distributed.

  • Accountability: Stand firmly against backroom deals and wasteful spending. Advocate for a city budget that reflects real community needs.

  • Ethics & Integrity: Push for stronger ethics reforms and transparency rules for council members, restoring public faith in city leadership.

Neighborhood Pride & Quality of Life

PRIORITIES

NEIGHBORHOOD PRIDE & QUALITY
OF LIFE

A clean, well-kept neighborhood fosters pride, safety, and a higher quality of life. We must take a zero-tolerance approach to nuisance issues and support beautification efforts across all 52 neighborhoods.

  • Litter, Vandalism & Noise Control: Enforce city laws against littering, graffiti, illegal dumping, and excessive noise. Set aside dedicated funds for cleanup and property repair, and direct CPD to prioritize zero-tolerance enforcement of intentional property damage.

  • Beautification & Civic Pride: Invest in community-led beautification initiatives, including facade grants, public art, and streetscaping projects that uplift and activate public spaces.

  • Parks & Recreation: Improve parks, greenways, and trails in every neighborhood, while expanding recreational programming to provide safe and active spaces for residents of all ages.
